Language Arts:
1. Draw a picture of Mr. Harms, be neat and colorful. Do not use lined notebook paper. Use the description of him on pages 76-77 to capture what Clotee was seeing at the time.
2. Write the sentences from the text you used to create your illustration.
Math: 15 minutes of Khan Academy work OR 10 minutes work on x-tra math.
Today in Class:
Today in math class Dr. Watson from DOE came and taught a fraction/decimal lesson. She introduced the game called "Getting Closer". We used estimating skills to determine if sums were closer to 0, 1, 2, or 3. We checked our work with calculators.
Language Arts: We read Clotee pages 76-80. We discussed the importance of foreshadowing in literature. Students also wrote some predictions. This class was short today due to a presentation in Social Studies.
Social Studies: Today in class we had a native from Peru, Catherine Hinojosa come share her experiences from life in Peru. Her chat was a great reinforcement of what we had learned from the text book. She brought many artifacts such as pan flutes and a hat made from Alpaca wool.
Science: We spent today reviewing what we have covered thus far on the Circulatory System. In the text book we skimmed through pages 80-88 and discussed key point. Then we did the section reviews on pages 81 and 88 in complete sentences.
